Department of Transportation (DOT) Exams
The DOT requires most commercial drivers to have a physical exam every two years in order to renew their license.
During the physical exam, the doctor will your height, weight, blood pressure, vision and hearing. A physical examination is also performed. If you wear glasses, bring them to your exam. A urine specimen is also requested.
Some employers request that you have a urine drug screen and breath alcohol testing at the time of your physical exam.
Please note: In most cases insurance does not pay for DOT exams and will be an out of pocket expense for the patient.
